~~ Mark13:32 (NASB) ~~ But of that
day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the
Father alone.

You know
those days when life seems mundane, like the same old pattern is a big rut you’ll
never get out of. You get up in the
morning, go to work, come home, have dinner, play on the computer or watch
TV. Then tomorrow it starts all over
again. Well, for me, Friday was
absolutely not one of those days!
Woo Hoo! I got up, went to my
volunteer job at my church like I do every week. It was a busy day, but nothing out of the
ordinary. Then I came home, had dinner; and,
here’s the fun part,... I was interviewed via Skype, for a movie called ‘The End of the World Project’.
A friend
of a friend works with NBC Universal. They
are making a movie about that big day in five weeks when many believe our
planet will be drastically changed or end on December 21st. They’re looking to interview as many people
as possible, and I was asked if I’d like to participate. I figured “Sure, sounds like fun. What’s
the worst that can happen? I could end
up on the ‘cutting room floor.’”
I spent
over an hour chatting with a guy named Angel.
He took me through a range of emotions as I had to seriously think about
“what if...?” What if there is really something to this
whole theory about our world not being our world anymore after next month?
“Are You Scared?”
Out of
the sixteen, or so, questions I was asked, that’s the one that cut to my core
the most. Facing your fear is never
easy. The possibilities are
endless. They range from:
- a major shift of the earth on its axis
- earthquakes like we’ve never known that can shift or break whole continents
- to World War III
- to chemical warfare by terrorists
- to alien invasions
- to colliding with a comet equal, or more, in size to earth
- and, no doubt, other things that we haven’t even thought of.
No One Knows
Scripture tells us that no one knows the day
or time when the world will end. We know
we’re in end times, but we are also told it will come like when we least expect
it (Mark13:31-36). Just a thought... we’re
expecting December 21st (or at least many are).
God Will Take Care of You
As Christians we are children of the living
God; heirs with Jesus. So, how did I answer
the question “Are you scared?” I said “I
have butterflies in my stomach, but I know no matter what happens; whether I
survive or not, God will take care of me.”
I have faith in Him. I know He
loves me. He’s promised to be with me,
comfort me, and take care of me. I have
no reason to fear. Psalm23:4 says “Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Philippians4:19 promises “And my God will
supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
I’m looking forward to seeing this film,
whether I end up in it or not. But
either way, I know God will take care of me.
He loves me.
(If you’d like to participate in this
production by doing an interview you can connect withAngel here on the NBC-Universal Crew Facebook page).

Let’s Pray
~~ Dear God ~~ You are so loving that we
cannot even comprehend it. Only You know
the day and time when this world will come to an end. In all our vast human knowledge, the bottom
line is that the amount we know compares to enough to fill a thimble, against
your knowledge that can fill the universe.
Thank You for taking care of us, even in the pending doom that we have
brought on ourselves. Please help us to
keep our focus on Jesus, so that we can walk through the dark valley with our
heads held high and without fear knowing that You will take care of our every
need in every situation. In Jesus name,
AMEN.

ReplyDeleteAMEN! You are so right. Thanks for the wonderful comments. Many blessings to you.
DeleteThank You, CARLEY , for your post! The failure to defeat our enemies will result in us living among our enemies and being corrupted by them. Arm yourself with the righteousness and Word of God. Give God all the glory! Vic.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the SparkGoodie. Thanks also for the wonderful feedback on my post. Many blessings to you. HUG

Delete! WOW !
ReplyDeleteI really hadn't thought much about that "prophesy" because
1) God is ultimately in control and
2) What will be, will be
But now with the Gaza turmoil,
it does seem more possible
LOVE and BLESSINGS, Dear Carley !
Thank you for the feedback. This certainly makes people stop and think for sure. Many blessings to you. HUG
DeleteCertainly if some major problem occurs, we have to depend moment by moment on God.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the feedback. Depending on God is the only smart thing to do. Many blessings to you. HUG
DeleteSomething to think about, thanks for sharing.

DeleteWow - that was an exciting day. Fear can cause us to stop in our tracks at times. The closer I stay to God and his word, the less fear I have. I know that he knows what is going to happen and when it is going to happen and he will be with us through it all.
ReplyDeleteFor that, I am so very grateful and thankful.
Sunny

DeleteI saw this sign on a church recently -
DeleteKnow God, Know Peace
No God, No Peace
Makes sense - doesn't it?
Have a GREAT week. Thanks again for sharing.

DeleteSee you in the movies!
ReplyDeleteLOL Thanks for the encouragement. Thanks, also,, for reading. Many blessings to you. HUG
Deletewhen does this movie come out , I personally see many ways this could play out , and just today I have been told many times in my mind that no man not even Jesus knows the hour or the day , so with that in mind, I think prayer can change and alter our future, ultimitley he is in charge though , and there are so many skeptics and people like me are loonies!

I'm not sure of the date, but it will be sometime next month. The idea is to have it out before Dec. 21st. It's a documentary type film.
Deletewhat a great witness opportunity. God is in complete control
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading and for the reply. I hope you are blessed by it. Many blessings to you. HUG
DeleteI know that the Lord will not let allow Satan to destroy the world before He comes. Scriptures repeatedly says so about Christ's coming. A book that I would recommend reading is The Great Controversy by E.G. White.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading and for the reply. I hope you are blessed by it. Thanks also for the book recommendation. I will check that out. Many blessings to you. HUG
DeleteThat is one of the most intriguing video projects I've ever heard of - I'll be looking out for it, though I don't know that I would participate. (I guess that explains something of what I think, since I plan to be around to watch it and hear what people say about it, lol...)
ReplyDeleteI will tell Angel that you're looking forward to his film. The trailer I posted was not the final cut of the trailer. Here's the final cut completed today.... I made the cut! :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kBpNPIFJpOQ
DeleteI just found this and it is a day or two after the predicted day. It was interesting and certainly everyone who knew of this prophesy must have wondered if it might occur, but I believe as you quoted from the scriptures that no man knows the day.
ReplyDeleteCertainly, everyday is the end of the world for some people. Because of our mortal existence, we will die and the time will come when we met our Maker face to face and account for our actions in this life.
I believe that there will truly be an end of this world as we know it. Some of the prophecies about this time are scary, but if we view this from the perspective of showing that God knows and is in charge of what will happen, it is not frightening. I have yet to see a movie that tells of the glorious kingdom which will come when Christ again returns to reign on Earth. Let us not be afraid, but live valiantly that we may be a part of that whether we die and descend with Him and the angels from on high, or live to see that day and rejoice and are lifted up to greet Him in the great and terrible day of the Lord. It will be glorious, and if we are righteous, we will rejoice in that day. When I stopped worrying about the end of the world and started thinking more about what I am doing in my day to day life to prepare to meet God, I gained a greater measure of peace.
Here are two verses from LDS scriptures that are helpful to me:
Alma 34:32
32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.
Doctrine and Covenants 65:5
5 Call upon the Lord, that his kingdom may go forth upon the earth, that the inhabitants thereof may receive it, and be prepared for the days to come, in the which the Son of Man shall come down in heaven, clothed in the brightness of his glory, to meet the kingdom of God which is set up on the earth.
Ruth
Thank you so very much for reading and for the great feedback. I very much appreciate it.
DeleteIt certainly would be great to see a movie that talks about Jesus and the coming kingdom.
Many blessings to you and yours and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. HUG
As you say, the date of the end of the world is unknown, but we do have a responsibility to BE PREPARED . . . and for that, I praise a living God for the assurances and promised He gives me. That time could very well be in my lifetime or generation. May we continually make disciples for Christ while we still can. Hug, hug -- (ejoy) Evelyn
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful feedback. Many blessings to you. HUGS.
DeleteJust wondering if the video on your page is the end product? if not do you know where I could find it to watch it?
